Objective of the Project: The objective of the IntegraPorts project, initiated by The Ports of Stockholm with the support of the Swedish Institute (SI), is to create a partnership between Sweden and Ukraine regarding the integration of Ukrainian ports into the European Union transport system. The project addresses the challenges of the war, which have led to a decline in the role of ports in Ukraine’s trade, and aims to facilitate their reconstruction and modernization in line with European standards.
The results of the project preparation will be directly used for preparing a larger project. Ukraine’s accession process to the EU, initiated with its candidacy status in June 2022 and ongoing negotiations since June 2024, further supports this integration effort.
Activities: The project includes a needs analysis, meetings with Ukrainian partners, monitoring of funding opportunities, monthly online partner meetings, and one study visit to a Baltic port.
Expected Results: The results may serve as a foundation for a future training project, which will include seminars, visits to ports (e.g., Stockholm), and training on EU regulations, contributing to the restoration of trade and the integration of Ukraine into the TEN-T.
