The 4th Blue Mission BANOS Conference, held on April 28-29, 2025, in Sopot, Poland, during the Polish EU Council Presidency, brought together stakeholders from Poland, Eastern Germany, Denmark, and South-Eastern Sweden to advance sustainable maritime practices in the Baltic and North Sea regions. Organized by BlueMissionBANOS in collaboration with the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership and the Blue Economy Baltic Forum, the event facilitated critical discussions on environmental and economic sustainability in the maritime sector. Motus Foundation contributed significantly to the conference, representing the Blue Supply Chains project and supporting the DigiTechPort2030 project, which was showcased through a dedicated stand.
The Blue Supply Chains project, a key focus of Motus Foundation’s efforts, aims to enhance the sustainability of maritime logistics through innovative supply chain solutions. During the conference, Motus Foundation’s communication team engaged with attendees to highlight the project’s goals of reducing emissions, improving resource efficiency, and fostering resilient transport networks, aligning with the EU Mission Oceans & Waters objectives to protect marine ecosystems and promote sustainable economic growth.
Joanna Kniter and Andrzej Urbaś from Motus Foundation co-moderated a workshop session in collaboration with the Blue Supply Chains team. The session focused on key challenges, including the adoption of alternative fuels, the development of eco-friendly transport systems, and the enhancement of sustainable port infrastructure. Through interactive discussions, participants shared insights and best practices, contributing to a collaborative framework for achieving regional sustainability goals. The workshop emphasized the importance of cross-sector partnerships in addressing complex environmental challenges within the maritime industry.
