The first week of October (6th-9th 2025) marked an important period for Motus Foundation, as the team took part in several key maritime events in Gdańsk and Gdynia, including the Baltic Ports Organization Conference (BPO 2025), the BaltExpo Exhibition, and the Partner Meeting of the DigiTechPort2030 project. These events provided valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and advancing ongoing initiatives in sustainable and digital port development.
Participation in the Baltic Ports Organization Conference
Throughout the conference, Motus Foundation colleagues actively engaged in discussions and workshops focused on sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation in the Baltic port sector. The DigiTechPort2030 project was presented publicly during the BPO sessions, drawing attention to its objectives of accelerating the digital and green transition of small and medium-sized ports across the Baltic Sea region.
Motus Foundation was also proud to support Stefan Breitenbach from the Blue Supply Chains project during his presentation, “Blue Supply Chains – how to support port authorities and port operators to decarbonise port operations.” The presentation highlighted strategies for decarbonization, alternative fuels, and onshore power solutions, while emphasizing the pivotal role of port authorities in the green transition.
In addition to the conference sessions, participants attended BaltExpo – the 23rd International Maritime and Military Fair, exploring the latest technological innovations in maritime logistics, digitalization, and port operations. The event also included a study visit and boat tour through the Port of Gdańsk, offering firsthand insights into the port’s infrastructure, including the Grain Quay, Naftoport, and Baltic Hub container terminal.
DigiTechPort2030 Partner Meeting at PPNT Gdynia
On 9 October, Joanna Kniter and Olena Davydok represented Motus Foundation at the DigiTechPort2030 Partner Meeting, hosted at Pomorski Park Naukowo-Technologiczny (PPNT) in Gdynia. The meeting focused on reviewing the project’s second-year progress, assessing ongoing pilot activities, and refining strategies for communication, dissemination, and capitalization of project results.
During the session, Motus Foundation led a workshop on communication and dissemination, presenting updates on the project website, outreach campaigns, and stakeholder engagement activities. Partners discussed methods for improving internal communication, aligning dissemination with technical progress, and integrating educational outputs from previous initiatives, such as Connect2Small Ports.
Collaboration Across Baltic Initiatives
By contributing to both DigiTechPort2030 and Blue Supply Chains, Motus Foundation continues to play an active role in supporting sustainable innovation and cross-sector collaboration within the Interreg South Baltic Region and Baltic Sea Region programmes. Through its engagement in communication, dissemination, and stakeholder dialogue, the Foundation helps strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange for a smarter, greener, and more resilient maritime future.
